Ortho Resources
General
Bullet-point format resources are great for getting the basics and the key high-yield facts, but textbooks will give much more in-depth information about the history of a topic, how it has evolved and significantly more context
Reviews are great for newer and more niche information on specific topics
Intra-op videos are useful to see exact steps of the procedure and lectures have high information-to-time ratios for understanding what pieces of information are particularly important
Anatomy
Anatomy is the ABCs of orthopedics, but understanding anatomy from a surgical approach is different than just knowing where structures originate and insert
Hoppenfeld's is fantastic at describing the structures you will encounter during the approach and has great "applied anatomy" chapters which give good frameworks on how to think about the anatomy
The Complete Anatomy app and Netter's both give good sense of macro-scale anatomy and show what attaches where, the app is a more modern way of approaching anatomy and allows you to understand the layers better
Trauma
Handbook of Fractures is fantastic for quick highlights of what you need to know, especially on call
Skeletal Trauma and Rockwood's have certain chapters some of which are better than the other but Skeletal Trauma is often more easily readable
In particular, the "Principles of Internal Fixation" chapter in Skeletal Trauma is a fantastic introduction
Sports
Shoulder and Elbow
Joints
Start with Hip and Knee Book - which describes all the basics of joint arthroplasty in an incredibly simple to digest manner
Supplement with the other textbooks for in-depth discussion of particular topics
Foot and Ankle
Hand
Spine
Pediatrics
Oncology
Great textbook about many of the common tumors seen in ortho oncology
Reference for many of the big surgeries seen in ortho oncology
